Writing a book is one of the most exciting things a person can do but at the same time it is also one of the most humbling. Each time you think you have told the story the right way you discover you have left something out or that there is a better way to do it. The truth is the writing of a book is the easiest part. You then become involved in the world of book publishing and then the ever changing world of book publicity and book marketing. It is fascinating and fun to learn as much as you can about this new world of ideas. It reminds me of those days as a young lawyer when I tried my first serious cases to a jury. It seemed there was so much to learn, so many details and competing theories as to how to handle a case before a jury. Ultimately you stand there before a jury of twelve people you don’t know and try to envision in their minds the story you are telling and presenting in court. With book marketing it is similar except there are a lot more than twelve people and there are different tools such as web pages and book launches. The web page for my upcoming book has been recently renovated and I encourage readers to take a look and make your suggestions. More to come on this new world of book marketing.
