It is the most confounding thing in recent American history that the United States of America as the world's lone superpower, and specifically an American president, Barack Obama, who even prior to election travelled the world as a self appointed spokesman for the good and righteous stands toungue tied as millions of young people throughout the Middle East stand ready to risk their own lives in a fight for freedom.
How can America stand mute as people fight for freedom in Libya.?
Why cant the leader of the free world, the American president Barack Obama say to the world that all people are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights?
This does not even call for Mr Obama to directly weigh in on a particular country or regime; but only to speak of what America stands for and let the chips fall from there as they may.
To speak Mr. President the words: of freedom, liberty, self determination, religoius tolerance.
To explain Mr. President who we are as Americans, not to suggest that anyone must do it "our" way, but only to explan what we believe in: what we as Americans had to fight for. It was the Americans who first said 'give me liberty or give me death.'
To explain Mr President to the people of the Middle East, whether you were born of this country or not that people of your race were not so long ago slaves themselves. Don't be an Uncle Tom, Mr President. Tell the world of your impassioned love for freedom and of what your people had to endure.
Assure every young person of the Middle East be they on facebook or protesting in the public square, that the blood of this President is shared with every human being on the planet that has been enslaved by dictatorships.
America must demand that the United Nations condemn Quadafi and his violence against his own people and pledge the use of the United States Air Force to protect the skies over Libya.
Get some guts and show some emotion and fight for what America stands for.
